DATED RESEARCH / US CLOSE 9 OCTOBER 2026

One fresh pattern alert. No qualified ETF entry.

All 15 selected ETFs have a completed US regular-session 4H bar through Friday 9 October, 20:00 UTC. Each was checked with the same experimental Jean-Marc Weekly → Daily → 4H method used for stocks. None passes all required Elliott setup checks. A classical pattern detector found one new price breakout in USO, with important caveats.

Friday's alert: USO, not an Energy stock order

USO's 4H symmetrical triangle broke upward at 17:30 UTC above $147.60; its final 4H close was $148.25. The detector did not confirm breakout volume. A bearish descending-triangle break from 7 October remains conflicting evidence. USO follows oil futures, while XLE tracks energy equities; XLE had no confirmed 9 October break. Treat the oil move as a research prompt for energy stocks, then require each stock's own fresh setup, event and risk checks.

Watch levels, not entries: XLK's forming double bottom requires a completed break above $203.25 (Friday 4H close $198.85), XLE's requires above $65.78 (close $65.08), and PDBC's requires above $19.94 (close $19.655). XLK's 4H MACD was bearish despite its stronger 20-session sector return.

Raw 4H closes may differ slightly from adjusted daily closes. Relative return is the ETF's adjusted 20-session return minus SPY's, in percentage points. How Sam should use this

Sector strength may help prioritize stock research, but no ETF on this date qualifies as a full 4H trade setup. XLV and XLK were the daily relative leaders; XLV had bullish 4H MACD without an eligible setup, while XLK's 4H MACD had turned bearish. The simulated portfolio already holds four Technology names, above the two-name cap for new selections, so no new Technology stock should be filled while that remains true. Commodity funds stay outside GICS sector counts. Record the ETF date and evidence beside any proposed stock decision.
